Digits

The urban environment is full of signs that seem meant to be understood only by a sub-set of passers by (like those symbols that tramps were reputed to chalk up outside houses to indicate whether the occupants were generous or hostile). Advertent or inadvertent, their visual impact interacts with their import to create what sometimes feels like a found poem or visual joke, a substratum of meaning for the observing eye.
